JMI Software Systems, Inc., pioneered the use of C language for the implementation of an RTOS(Real Time Operating System). C EXECUTIVE was first delivered for the Motorola 68000 in October, 1981. Since that time, JMI has added many features to the original kernel, and created many supporting products, including CE-DOSFILE, a DOS-compatible file system; CE-VIEW, a system level prototyping debugger; CE-TCP, CE-SNMP, and CE-PPP communication protocols; and PSX, a POSIX subset that provides a single-user, single-group multi-process, multi-thread execution environment.
